My Mom's Purple Asters

09.10.17 | Bohol, Philippines | Photo by Aine Garcia

I deeply adore flowers and it is only now that I'm more interested in them than before.

One of my favorites is this daisy-like flower - Purple Aster. This flower is really meaningful for me, it symbolizes a new beginning for my mother. And every time I looked at them, I am always reminded of my parent's most-awaited day.

However, as much as I wanted to keep them close to me, I stopped placing them in my room because of my unending allergic rhinitis. Ahhh, allergens! But it's okay, I can freely gaze at them from my mother's garden. *smile*

Iced Coffee Chill Out!

05.11.17 | Bohol, Philippines | Photo by Aine Garcia
{Homemade Iced Coffee}
1 sachet Nescafé CreamyWhite + more Coffee + Sugar + Milk + Ice

When the weather is too hot and you're too stressed out because people won't cooperate while you're beating the deadline for your task. Ugh!

This is usually the time that makes me miss Starbucks Coffee so much! But getting a Java Chip or Caramel Frappuccino is way impossible from where I live. I'm just glad I have this Starbucks Logo Cold Cup Dome Lid Tumbler and made my own iced coffee!

Relaxing!

My Favorite Mais Keso!

04.23.17 | Bataan, Philippines | Photo by Aine Garcia

It's summer and the sun is so out!

One of my most-looked-forward every time we go home to hubby's hometown in Bataan is this homemade ice cream. It tastes so good that it reminds me of mamang sorbetero's Sorbetes; rich in flavor and not too sweet, hindi nakakasawa

So whether it's Christmas, New Year, someone's birthday, or even without an occasion, I always request this! And there's no other flavor could satisfy my cravings, except my favorite Mais Keso. *yummy yum yum*

Until then Geno's Ice Cream, see you on our next vacation!

Fruity Postal Stamps

02.01.17 | Bohol, Philippines | Photo by Aine Garcia

Earlier, I went to the Post Office here and checked whether I could buy postal stamps even if I'm not going to use them for mailing. Gladly, the Post Master sold me these yummy and fruity postal stamps - and I LOVE them! These stamps give us a glimpse of what the Philippines is when it comes to fruits. Among those that are featured are Mango, Aratiles, Strawberry, Egg Fruit (Chesa, Tiessa, or Tisa) and Rose Apple (Makopa).

Now, I remember my old stamp collection from my grandfather's vintage mails. I guess I have to go through my stuff and look for it and relive my postal stamp collection once again.

Waiting...

This is how our Saturdays looked like.

Hills on the left, ocean on the right, sea breeze, the sky and the clouds, and flock of doves and other birds flying around the port.

As much as we enjoy this scenery, I also wished that one day we won't be waiting for hubby to come home on weekends just to be with us, but to finally be with him every day.

Hopefully, someday, soon...

My Twinkler Scout

09.16.16 | Bohol, Philippines | Photo by Aine Garcia

And this day has finally come, I now have a Twinkler Scout under my wings.

Nostalgic indeed.

This pin reminded me of my Girl Scout days and the experiences that came along with it.

And yes, I still have my old pins with me.

Ain't in Hawaii

09.03.16 | Bohol, Philippines | Photo by Aine Garcia

I've searched the internet about this Arachnid and I hope I got this right as there are so types of this specific spider. This one is called a Hawaiian Garden Spider or Argiope appensa.

I found it under a tree and no, this ain't in Hawaii. Lol!

I saw this little creature under the Doña Luz tree and was thrilled to see this work of art. See the tiny little snobbish face on her back? Amazing, right?!

If it's not because of this spider's colorful design, I wouldn't dare snap a picture of her - I guess it's understandable why. Lol!

Passion Fruit Flower

08.15.16 | Bohol, Philippines | Photo by Aine Garcia

Passion Fruit is known for their medicinal use, great amount of nutrients, and health benefits.

We had this vine tree for almost 2-years and we've been continuously harvesting the fruits for months now. And these 2 wonderful flowers will be soon harvested too!

{Photoshoot} Miss Philippines Earth - Bohol

A supposedly Flower Crown Project turned out to be my first fun shoot attended.

I probably had one of the coolest experience last week - a short one, though, but I can attest that it's something that I've never imagined I'd be doing.

My cousin asked me to make some flower crowns she can use for a photoshoot organized by her photographer friend. I happily obliged to make a pair of flower crown for her since it's been a while when I last made one. She also invited my daughter to join the fun shoot, which was supposed to happen but it didn't because my little girl can't wait long enough because she wanted to play already. Instead, we made a separate photoshoot. Lol!

Anyway, this photo session highlighted the flower crowns I created. My cousin was looking for an area nearby so my mom offered her cornfield. We also sort of trespassed one residence there - well, actually there was a worker who permitted us to use the area, so thanks to him. Lol!

I only got a few shots, though, as I am only a saling-pusa. I don't really want to get in the way of the photographer so I just took pictures whenever I can and observe while they do their thing. And it was really great to be there that day, I liked how they work together and how they had lots of fun and tons of laughter behind the scene. It was tiring too, especially when we're looking for a nice location to shoot, but it was all so worth it.

Up until now, I still can't believe these pictures came from my lens. Happiness!

Enjoy!

Funshoot with the Ladies

08.06.16 - Calape, Bohol

Photoshoot - I've never been to one and never have I tried it with other "models" except with my favorite one, my daughter. This day was simply remarkable and I didn't know that photoshoots are such a fun activity to do, glad I joined these 3.

Thanks for making it memorable, ladies!

And if you want to check the rest of the pictures from this fun shoot, you may go here. ^_^

Enjoy!

Freshly Made Everyday

04.01.16 | Greenwich Pizza, SM Cebu City | Photo by Aine Garcia

Greenwich Pizza is every family's favorite. We always get giddy whenever we see that "g" in a red and green signage. But as years passed by, there were changes - from their menu up to their store's interior. And seeing bricks and retro-ish typography inside this local pizzeria is so refreshing. I like it, to be honest! It's very homey.

The City Port
